Here are my thoughts on the Kodak AZ528 camera. I recently purchased this camera used off of Ebay for around $80. The camera has mixed reviews on the Internet but for what I want to use it for and the price, I think it is a pretty good deal. When you start looking at digital cameras in general, they can get pretty pricey. This camera does not have all the bells and whistles of the more expensive cameras but it does what I want it to do. At the time of this post, you can purchase the camera new on Amazon for $250. You can find better used deals on Ebay.
So the question might be, "Why do you need another camera when there is one on your smart phone?" Good question. This camera has a 52x optical zoom that can get very good detail on objects far away vs your smart phone digital zoom. A digital zoom basically crops an image so that it looks bigger and can look pixilated. A Optical zoom uses glass optics like a telescope to zoom in and the picture quality is much better.
So I plan to get out more and would like to take photos of nature and street photography. I think this camera will work fine in that capacity. I can also take pretty good video. I may try to create some YouTube videos also.
Here are some photos I took messing around and learning how to use the camera. The subject matter is not too impressive but I do like the closeup bird pictures.
